Do you know that the household gun ownership has come down from around 50% in the 1970s to around 30% now, though the per capita gun ownership has increased considerably? (No one has pointed out this before - One more Noble Prize in the making)

This decrease in household gun ownership along with an increase in educational attainment levels from close to 10% in terms of secondary education in the 1970s to around 30+% certainly is helping on that front.

What is the connection between education and gun ownership?

Increase in educational attainment provides an opportunity to increase our understanding on the risks involved in gun ownership, and there is as much as 10% difference in gun ownership between those with a graduate degree or more compared to those with partial college or high school education with lesser educated individuals having more guns.

This is not the only factor, but is certainly an important factor.
